CATCH THEM YOUNG!😭🔥✍️
Today, I had the privilege of spending an unforgettable hour with my mentor and life coach, Coach D-GreatSam (Peak-Performance coach, Teacher, Counselor, Revivalist, Reformer, Conference Speaker and Pioneer of Ginger Me Global Family) in his office. Our conversation took an unexpected turn when Sam shared an intriguing question posed by his six-year-old son: “Daddy, why was Satan painted as a black man?” This innocent inquiry prompted a thought-provoking discussion about the importance of teaching black children that they, too, were made in the image and likeness of their God according to Genesis 1:26–27. Additionally, I took the opportunity to gift D-Great Sam a complimentary copy of my book, titled “Jesus Is A Black Man: An Inconvenient Truth.”
The question raised by Sam’s son challenges a common narrative that portrays #Satan as a black man in religious art. This portrayal can inadvertently perpetuate harmful stereotypes and reinforce negative biases. By addressing this question, we acknowledge the need to have open conversations about r*ce, representation, and the importance of fostering positive self-identity among black children.
It is imperative to teach young black children that they are made in the image and likeness of their God. They should be guided to see their own value and beauty reflected in religious teachings and imagery. By fostering inclusive beliefs, children can develop a healthy self-perception and a sense of belonging within their faith community. God is not strange to us His children like every other r*ce and people.
